Gate Steward

Duties
Work from the day sheet to get riders into the ring on time

Communicate with judge who is in the ring for what ride

Keep upcoming riders “on deck” to avoid delays

Track adds/scratches and communicate changes to office for accounting and record keeping

Occasionally this job will include announcing riders over the PA

Jump Crew

Duties
Hang close to the ring and replace poles as they are knocked down

Set jumps to correct heights between divisions

Office Helper

Duties
Help with check in and registrations

Add dressage scores

Run between judges booth and office with tests/scores

Hand out ribbons

Facilitate door prize drawings

Event Set Up/Break Down

Duties
Set up dressage arena or jumps the evening before the show

Break down dressage arena or jumps and pack trailers immediately following the last rider

Occasionally will require hooking up and moving the jump or dressage trailer to or from the parking lot
